You should be waking up this morning with a sense of accomplishment because last night you played through one of music history’s great compositions. Rhapsody in Blue is held as a lasting serious work that helped to define the jazz age. Is it ready for performance? Absolutely not, but you achieved the one thing essential to learning any new piece of music…you grasped the “structure” of this great work! Thank you for your diligence and artistry!
