Dear Band Members,

Last week we handed out to each of you a form giving you the opportunity to support your Lynchburg Pops Community Band.

To give you an idea of the cost of running LPCB, here is a typical concert season budget:

Auditorium rental and required security personnel $ 700

Music Purchase $1000

Publicity $1000

Program Printing $ 500

Audio and Video Recording $1000

$ 4200

This is what we consider a minimum requirement to mount a concert and doesn’t represent any unexpected expenses.

For our first concert we had nearly $2000 in one time expenses just to get the group up and running and looking good and managing the business of running a band.

We sold ads in the program to help defray the cost of printing and other expenses.

The ticket sales alone will not cover all of the costs of a concert. For this reason, we are looking for sustaining financial partners like you. We are certainly aware of your critical contribution as musicians, which is why the board voted to drop registration and music use fees. We therefore ask you to consider making an annual contribution and in return, we will list you in every remaining program for 2022.

Please consider this “priming the pump”! Think of all of the street musicians who throw a few dollars in their hat on the ground or their open instrument case to encourage passers by to contribute as well!
