Dear friends,
I thought it would be a good time to outline our concerts for the year and explain to everyone what we are doing.
Oct 15 – Generations Concert. The focus will be on kids AND parents/grandparents. We are introducing the world of Concert Band to youngsters. We’ll feature the 3 principal families of instruments, woodwind, brass, and percussion. Remember Leonard Bernstein’s Young Peoples’ Concerts? Most of the music will be familiar to kids demonstrating the multiple sounds within the band. It may seem like a lot of music but some of the pieces are shorter than we typically do with a good variety for young ears. Some pieces are only 2 minutes long.
Music to include (not in concert order)
