Dear Band Peeps,
Just a few reminders…
1. Final rehearsal is Monday, December 2 at Heritage High, 7-9
2. Concert is Tuesday, December 3 at the Academy Center of the Arts
Park across the street at the hotel parking garage and enter by the front doors by 5:30 pm.
Place instrument cases backstage in the hall way behind the back wall of the stage on or under the tables provided
Restrooms downstairs one level; take the stairs at the end of the instruments storage hall or the elevator across from the loading ramp
Black everything except Christmas ties for the men. NO funny socks, hats, flashing light earrings, etc. Nothing that might distract from the music.
Warm-up at 6:00 pm. Please arrive NO LATER than 5:45 so you can dispose of your case, get to your seat and warm up your instrument ready for Jim to drop the baton at 6:00 pm.
Please be on time. It is unfair to the group to come late and expect everything to stop while you take your place, find a chair and a stand, make everyone shift for you.
3. HELP NEEDED !
We still need 3 people to help with the load in at the Academy after the concert and the unloading at Heritage. Please email me at lynchburgpops@gmail.com with your willingness to help.
There are only two groups;
The first will meet at Heritage at 4:30 pm to help gather the instruments needed, load them in the truck, and then follow the truck to the Academy and help unload
The second group will load the truck at the Academy following the concert AND follow the truck to Heritage to help unload.
There has been some confusion about this in the past.
4. Stage set up folks, please meet Randy Kent, Stage Manager, at the Academy at 4:30 to help set up the stage. Please enter by the stage doors facing Fifth street, to the left of the Academy as you face it from Main Street. The front doors may not be open
Separate emails will be sent to the two crews mentioned above.
5. Ticket sales are going well. Please keep reposting all the latest on all of your social media accounts. It’s free and gets very, very wide distribution.
Thank you for your attention to these matters !
BTW. I will be doing the welcome introductions from the stage before the concert. I forgot to list Paul Rumrill, pianist, in the program. Please give an enthusiastic round of applause after my introduction. I will then give a “suspenseful” introduction to our EMCEE, Mayor Stephanie Reed. Please give a really enthusiastic round of applause to her and big smiles. This will “rev up” the energy level of the audience which will wash over us and give us even more energy
Thanks again,
Steve Aiello, President
