Dear friends,
Once again you have amazed me with a level of expertise that I have underestimated. As I often say, the goal of sight-reading is to grasp the structure of a piece. You achieved that with the 6 NEW PIECES we read last night. If an ensemble can master structure the rest is busy work to clean it up. Had we not been able to playthrough any one of those pieces, I would’ve thrown it out of the program. For this reason I feel very confident that the Generations Concert and the Christmas concert are going to be outstanding presentations for our community. I also know that for the spring Overture to Candide and Festive Overture are upcoming program selections that will take us to the highest levels of literature. Our ultimate goal is to take our audiences on an emotional journey that will enhance their lives and make their spirits SOAR! I can’t wait!
I give thanks to the Lord each day for your presence in my life. You challenge me to be better and you bless me with friendship and your commitment. YOU can play anything you set your mind to! I can’t wait for next Thursday night. 7pm-9pm. (Details to come.)
